Still using the Yellow Pages? Dental Web Now grew out of one of our past endeavors. We had set up a website for Dr. Murad Thakur in Orlando to test a site building technology that one of our companies was working on. One day when Ahmed was at Dr. Thakur’s offices, he noticed Dr. Thakur writing a rather large check to Yellow Pages. Upon inquiring about why Dr. Thakur was writing such a large check to the yellow pages, yet did not seem to care much about the site, it dawned upon him that Dr. Thakur simply didn’t see the same benefits. To Dr. Thakur, Yellow Pages brought him patients. Or so he thought. We set up a test, tracking the calls received from yellow pages based on a Tracking Number.
So Ahmed went off and added some analytics, call tracking and did some minimal optimization to Dr. Thakur’s site. And returned three months later to the office to compare with the effects of Yellow Pages advertising. The results were flat out staggering. Dr. Thakur’s website was generating upwards of 200 phone calls each month (over 600 calls total). With our call analytics system, we found his website had a conversion rate of around 10%, resulting in around 60 new customers. Yellow Pages, on the other hand, had only delivered a total of 56 phone calls in those same three months. We were unable to track the conversion rate of the Yellow Pages at that time, however even at a 100% conversion rate it would still have generated less new customers.
