Conversion Tracking

Conversion tracking is monitoring the performance or progress of the internet marketing strategies that was applied in promoting your business. By monitoring conversions, you will know if the strategies applied have been working or not, that is, if your website has received a lot more visitors or viewers which can be attributed to the application of online marketing strategies. For example, we know that we get website visitors by them clicking on content or links of our website. To know or to track the number of visitors who clicked content, we use conversion tracking.
Research says that conversion tracking is one of the most important parts of online marketing. It results in an increaseof the conversion rate from 1% to 2% and having everything else constant (traffic, pricing, costs etc) would double your revenue/profits right away.
So how does conversion tracking work? For example, a company newsletter has been sent out, with a link to a competition. With conversion tracking, you can track how many times this link was clicked and how many clicks actually entered the competition.
Conversion Tracking enables you to identify the performance of your most important links, conversion rates, and time of click to convert. You could even go further and identify if your websites content needs revising by comparing the performance of a Link (in terms of Clicks) and the performance of the Conversion (are they dropping off once they’ve clicked?).
Beyond analytics, there’s also the capability to focus on individuals that might have visited, but didn’t turn. Perhaps using the follow up approach to email a reminder of the Competition coming to end to those that didn’t convert,you could email everyone again, but targeted mailings lead to more powerful profits.
